I think it is better to identify a specific problem first and then, if after analyzing the problem, I determine that purchasing something is required to solve it, make the purchase. In the end it is trying to justify making purchases, and trying to fill a hole in my soul with consumer goods. I'd like to respectfully offer my thoughts about this question, and please keep in mind I am speaking about my own experiences and not making assumptions about yours.įor me, making unnecessary purchases is what was complicating my life, and the thought of "what can I buy to make my life simpler?" is really just "what can I buy to make my life better or happier?" in disguise.
